We passed by Asia Camera Museum and went in for a look. We were taken in by the amount of cameras they had.
We were on our way to Chowrasta Market when we passed by Asia Camera Museum. (Actually we mistaken it for The Camera Museum) Asia Camera Museum is located at the second floor, of the Canon building. We are required to pay an admission fee of 30 Ringgit to view the exhibitions and a guide will explain the history of the cameras to us.
Before the entrance of the museum, there's a wall filled with photographs in frames. The area is lit up by warm halogen lamps. I shall have one of this walls in my future home. They will display the best photographs I've taken =)
Finally, it's time for the camera tour! First off, we were shown the a 19th century studio camera which is working. There are two viewfinders for this camera. One of it is located behind the camera. The size of it is rather huge and resembles a mini television screen. The other viewfinder is located at the side of the camera and it's tiny! It is only the size of a sharpener.
Next, there is an interesting painting in a corner of the room. There's this photographer with his camera, a chair with a hole in it and a retort stand beside it.
This is actually the set up in the studio back in the early days. As the camera takes a long time to shoot, the retort stand provides support to the person's neck or hair to refrain him from moving too much. The stand is inserted behind through the hole in the chair.
