Sab X2 Wanton Noodles is crowned the best wanton noodles in Bangkok by many. This trip to Bangkok, I managed give it a try.
Sab X2 Wanton Noodles is featured by lots of the other bloggers. It is located at Petchaburi Soi 19 at the right hand side. The portion is quite small so I had a bowl of dry noodles and a soup want. Each bowl of noodles is quite uniform with 2 wantons, a few slices of char siew and few stalks of vegetables. Then, spring onion is sprinkled over it to give it a better taste.
The bowl of noodles tends to be a little oily but tasty. I love the crispy pork lard (猪油渣). The noodles are quite Q and the wantons are soft. Do remember to add their chilli powder to bring up the taste. It can be quite dull without the chilli powder.
Meet the noodle master! He cooks the noodles and prepare 3 to 4 bowls at a time. Swiftly, he picks the ingredients and lays them in the right places before finishing off with the seasoning and sauce.
If you not in the mood of noodles, try out their pork leg rice. I love the layer of oily fat; Tender, Chewy, YUMMY! The sauce is filled lightly with pork flavour and drizzle on top of the rice adding much taste to the plain rice.
Lastly, start the day with some cold chrysanthemum tea to cool your body before some serious shopping or sight-sunning under the scorching hot sun.
Hope you folks enjoyed the dishes as much as I do. Do try it out if you're travelling to Bangkok and especially so if you stay near Pratunam area =)
