Taiwan Trip 2013 - Day 2 - 肉蛋土司, 三佳早点, 酒文化馆, 日月潭, 18度巧克力工, 观星园

Day 2 of Taiwan: 肉蛋土司 -> 三佳早点 -> 酒文化馆 -> 日月潭 -> 18度巧克力工 -> 观星园

Rise and shine! Day 2 of Taiwan - We had breakfast at 2 areas. First, 肉蛋土司 then, 三佳早点. Food was remarkably good at this 2 outlets. We had their typical breakfast of 蛋饼, 豆漿油條 etc.

I love the 蛋饼 of 三佳早点. The smoothness and aroma of the egg. This dish is pan fried to perfection and finishes with the sprinkling of spring onions.

After a heavy breakfast, we headed down to 酒文化馆. This place is all about wine. You can find wine ice creams, cakes with slight touch of wine, 鐵蛋 with wine etc. Here, I bought a strawberry flavored cake with wine for my dear (she loves it).

After shopping for an hour plus, it's time for lunch. We were recommended 阿媽的飯. The food here was nice and cheap. Although it tends to be a little oily but food was really awesome and tasty.

I love the rice of Taiwan. The grains are big, white and soft. They tasted sort of sweet (unlike those in Singapore). The meat were cooked tender and juicy - Sinful but who cares!

I fell in love with their kuay tiao! It is silky smooth and slides into your mouth, down your throat. The soup is a little oily however, it is rich in its taste and addictive.

After, lunch we headed to 日月潭 (Sun Moon Lake). We boarded a boat heading across the island. On the boat, we were told the interesting history of Sun Moon Lake and also what we expect to view there when we reached our destination.

Up on top of the hill, on the island, there lies a temple where visitors went up to pray. Below the temple, there is a stall (金盆阿嬤的茶葉蛋) that is famous for its 茶葉蛋. We prayed and had our piping hot eggs before heading to the other island.

We proceed to the other island and we basically, toured the island - eating, shopping and EATING again.

Next, we stopped by 18度巧克力工 (18 ℃ Chocolate Factory). We tried their chocolate and ice cream before heading up the mountain to our Minsu. The chocolate and ice cream doesn't really fascinates me - probably because I'm do not have a sweet tooth.

Finally, we reached 观星园 (Starry Minsu). We unloaded our luggages and went over to the dining area for dinner. A hot pot of steam boat with family in a cold cold evening - What more can we wish for?

Next we went requested our driver to drive us around the Minsu around. We stopped by 紙箱王 (Carton King), took a looked inside. There is a bar near Carton King where Taiwan singers wannabes perform. We did some shopping and stocked up some cup noodles for supper.

Lastly, we had a hot shower. Dressed in a sweater with an inner signet, a FBT shorts and a pair of slippers, I tried to capture the beautiful stars and it isn't easy photographing stars. It seemed a lot harder than I thought.

That concludes day 2 of our tour. Enjoy folks! Stay tune for day 3 =)
