Day 1 of Taiwan: 桃園國際機場 -> 大湖酒莊 -> 薰衣草森林 -> 菇菇部屋 -> 心之芳庭 -> 逢甲夜市 -> 逢甲花园
Here is the first moment of day 1. I was awaken by a streak of bright light. I opened my eyes and I saw the beautiful sun rise. It's my first time experiencing this - Enchanting!
After another couple of hours, we finally touched down 桃園國際機場. We processed our passports, met with our drivers and on our way to the first stop.
Our first stop was 大湖酒莊 (I hope I got this right). There are two huge strawberries at this landmark. In 大湖酒莊, they sell all kinds of goods related to strawberries - Strawberry wine, strawberry cakes, puffs and even Taiwan sausages.
We tried some refreshing strawberry ice cream and the strawberry flavored Taiwan sausage. I felt that the taste of the sausage overpowered the strawberry flavor.
Next, we headed for 薰衣草森林 (Lavender Cottage). Lavender Cottage is a sweet place. It consists of a shop that sell cute little stuff that girls adore, some fragrance soap and also there are many interesting decorations and a mini Lavender terrace garden.
If you are wondering what they are photographing, here's the answer. They are trying to take a shot of the butterflies fluttering around this specific plant / grass - and I mean lots of them. I did some photo processing, to highlight my point.
We had lunch at 菇菇部屋. As the name suggests, you can find all sort of mushroom dishes here. The food here is really tasty. We ordered a 6 person meal, added some dishes and begin our feast.
After lunch, we headed to a Lotus Farm. We paid an entrance fee of NT$800 per pax and tour the farm / garden. This place was mosquito infested as it is an organic farm - strictly no use of pesticides on the plants. The place was kinda small and not much of lotus flowers and leaves.
We did not really enjoy much and also tolerating the annoying mosquito "attacks". Fortunately, we utilized our fees for a cup of free juice. We waited for quite some time and was getting impatient! Then our drinks were served. The owner put her thoughts and effort into preparing the juices - fruits were diced and the drink creatively decorated.
Next stop, 心之芳庭 (Moncoeur). It is a beautiful place and looks similar to 薰衣草森林 (Lavender Cottage). This is because, it is open by the same creator. It is a romantic place for lovers to take a stroll and enjoy the day.
Lastly, after a long day of tour, we checked in at 逢甲花园. We unloaded our languages and there we go again - Out on the streets of Taiwan! We visited 逢甲夜市. Shopped around the night market and ate lots of food.
