Desaru Trip - Ostrich Farm

Last stop of Desaru Trip, the Ostrich Farm! First thing we reached there, we were brought to see the 3 week's old ostriches. There were tiny and kind of cute. I couldn't get a good shot as the ostriches are running around too much and the place was dark.

After that, we were ushered to an area where they shared with us how the ostriches were breed, what the parts of the ostriches can be made into and a "up close and personal" photo session with the ostrich. The area is filled with red ants so be careful where you step.

A tip they taught us on differentiating male and female ostriches was looking at the colour of the feathers. The males have darker black feathers where as the females have ash brown feathers. Some have a mixture of both, transvestites! (It's not a joke)

We did took photos with the ostrich side by side. However, my brother accidentally deleted all the photos in his camera =( . Anyway, their feathers are rough. Leaning close to their body, you could feel their heart pumping and the warm body heat.

We tired a stick of ostrich satay outside the farm before heading back. It tasted some what like chicken meat except it is much much tougher to chew. Taste wise wasn't too bad. Enjoy folks!
