Dinner at Ma Masion, Bugis Junction

I had one of my best dinner last Saturday in Ma Maison at Bugis Junction. The food was delicious, atmosphere was good and service was excellent.

We entered Ma Maison and were greeted warmly. We reached our seats and before we even sat down, ice water was served. The setting was perfect with romantic warm lights lilting the table. The floral table cloth with the slow soothing music just adds on.

We were flipping through the menu and finally we decided to have Cuttlefish Ink Spaghetti and Cold Special Curry Udon with Vegetables. Just as we were ending our order, a dish caught my dear's eyes. A lady next to us was having Chasoba Salad. So we added that into our order.

The Chasoba Salad was awesome! The dish was colorful with green soba, cherry red tomatoes, maroon bacons slices, and yellow bean curb skins. The soba was soft and tender. It was seasoned with sesame oil given the strong aroma of it. The salad definitely did stimulate my appetite.

Do not get turn off by the looks of this dish. It was in fact tasty. Each strand of spaghetti was fully soaked with the cuttle fish's ink. I wondered how the chef prepared this dish. It has a slight taste of sweet in the spaghetti and felt a little oily. This creates a unique texture in my mouth.

I had several spoons of curry. Their curry is unique. It has the taste of normal japanese curry and a slight herb-like after taste. The udon is springy, vegetables are fresh and cooked soft. Most importantly, you can enjoy warm curry throughout the meal as the dish was served in a cast iron pot which preserves heat.
