I just sold my Pentax SMC Pentax-M 50mm F2 lens. This lens is very sharp at f/8 and does a really great job, blurring the background softly obtaining a shallow DOF (depth of field). However, it is a manual lens and it is more troublesome taking photos with it (I'm still not used to manual focusing).
I bought a new lens yesterday. The Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS lens. I heard that it is a good lens and plan replace my SMC Pentax-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL with it. It has the extra 20mm of zoom and also f/2.8 at wider angles.
I tested out the lens briefly. The photos feel less vibrant and saturated and seemed to be washed up with white. It also lacks contrast comparing it with photos taken with my 18-55mm. Anyway, I will try it out more =)
Hope the new lens performs well *finger crossed*
