*Sound simple and "idiot proof" right?
I drag the video onto the disk and started burning it without any hesitation.
After that, I tested the disc to be working fine on my macbook.
(Playing it for the first few seconds.)
I tested it on a Windows PC and the video lags.
However, I convinced myself that the PC lags the video and I burnt the same content on 5 disks which are needed.
Testing the disks again, I found out that there were actually lots of problem.
- Windows/Mac Problem
.mov recognized on Mac but not on Windows.
.wmv recognized on Windows but not on mac.
VLC plays all the above format but, will the client know? - Resolution
Video is made with size 1024 by 768.
iPad screen size is 960 by 640 (sides are cut off).
VCD with various screen sizes affect the video.
Best viewed on PC/Laptops.
Burning .mov onto DVD on Mac
- I used Toast Titanium 10.
- Make sure you click on the DVD tab at the top-left hand corner of the application.
- Drag you .mov file into the panel and click burn.
- Mount the file onto the disk and you are done.
My Reflection
We have been working almost everyday in a week.
When we are tasked a certain job, how often do we think and plan our work before we start?
(Irregardless of how simple the task is.)
In this particular scenario, I wasted 5 DVD disks and an hour in the process.
I've been taking part in meetings and I realized that I'm not thinking enough or should I say not looking in depth, short-sighted compared to the big boss. He seems to be able to scrutinize on the smaller details and simple things which we do not see.
Time for a change! More thinking and processing before starting work.
