A negative example of service standard of Singapore - "Silence is golden!"
It would be nice if Singapore's service standard improves. Simple gestures such as a smile or greetings makes customers feel more welcome. It also makes the world "livelier". Personally, a smile and a simple "Thank you, see you again" brightens up my moment for a little while.
However, I do understand the long hours the workers are having and doing the same routine of scanning goods, receiving money and returning changes. Doing this for a few hundred times makes it a chore. Moreover, the hustle lifestyle Singaporeans have - everything needs to be fast and effective.
Below, is a link to an article written regarding the Service in Singapore. The author analyse some of the bad service staffs and share his thoughts.
